Blood Orange Campari Gin Fizz
This Blood Orange Campari Gin Fizz packs a punch. Don’t let its perfectly pink color fool you. This is no girlie drink.
As you read this post, I’ll be lounging on the porch of our primitive rental cabin located in the mountains of Western Maryland. Book in one hand, cocktail in the other. Taking in the scenic mountain views that surround our little piece of paradise.
I’m not going to lie, you guys, it’s pretty sweet! Endless trees. A plethora of deer meandering in and out of the brush just yards away from our cabin. Wild birds. Pitch black nights. Glistening stars so close you could reach out and touch them. The ceaseless hoot of nearby owls tucked away in some distant tree branch. It’s my definition of a perfect vacation.
I’ve been anticipating this trip for weeks. Not just for the long list of attributes outlined above, but for the peace and solitude that comes with staying in the woods. Mostly, I’m excited to unplug. To run far away from the Internet as possible. To rid myself of the daily happenings currently taking place in our country and around the globe. To just be.
But, I made you a cocktail before I headed out the door. You guys deserve a boozy beverage, and it’s my way of apologizing for leaving this space for an entire week. This Blood Orange Campari Gin Fizz is the total package. It has the looks. It’s chock full o’ booze, both herbaceous gin and bitter campari. There’s blood oranges–um, who doesn’t love those? And, to top it all off, there’s a bit of muddled rosemary action to round it all out.
While you’re sipping this cocktail and thinking of me, I’ll be hiking the trails of Swallow Falls and Muddy Creek with my camera on my back and my dog by my side. It’s going to be killer. When I return, I’ll share my experience, along with the overabundance of photos I’m sure to snap.

Your mountain escape sounds idyllic. I won’t be getting a vacation until June but in the meantime, I’ll be sipping on these cocktails dreaming of white sand beaches.
OMG, Jennie! Those glasses with the gold detailing? LOVE. They are perfection. Also campari, gin, and blood orange? Be still my heart.

This description of the “Spiced Pear Gin & Tonic” cocktail perfectly conveys the multifaceted taste of this drink. The combination of cinnamon and clove creates a sense of the classic taste of the pie, which perfectly harmonizes with the aroma of the pear. It is important to emphasize that the seasonings do not dominate this recipe, but serve as a pleasant addition to the main ingredient – pears. By the way, here is (text) (link). This cocktail is characterized by excellent balance, where no ingredient dominates the others. It is not too sweet, but sweet enough to emphasize the unique taste of pear and fresh thyme.
