Slice of Life Saturday’s ~ Hello, Fall!

It’s fall, y’all!

And yet, I haven’t touched my riding boots. It’s still too warm in Baltimore for fashionable fall boots, which is a shame, because I really didn’t feel like painting my toenails again. But, I did. I painted them a pretty fall color because I don’t think it’s fair for other people to have to look at my gnarly, chipped toenails.

I wish I had some fun summer vacation happening to report, but, the fact is, I was pretty lame this year. We. Did. Nothing. We barely even took the boat out. How depressing and old are we? I did just turn 30 in June–I suppose it comes with the territory.

Summer might have been a bust, but I’m going to make sure fall is epic. To ensure I follow through, I made a list:

Slice of Life Saturday's Epic Fall Fun List |

Tell me that doesn’t sound like fun?

I did get a new ring this summer. Squirrel didn’t know it at the time, but he bought me a new ring to complete my wedding set. I put it on and pranced into the living room waving it in front of his face. He didn’t quite get what I was doing (no surprise there), so I had to explain. His response, “Hey, I have good taste. You’re welcome.” Typical man.

My new bling |

I selected the sapphire ring to go with my sapphire and diamond wedding band. The gal who made my ring is on Etsy– name of her shop is Eternal Elements–and she’s super talented. The ring is absolutely gorgeous! Her name is Michelle. She’s very helpful and will take all the time you need to help you pick out the perfect ring. All her jewelry is handmade with love.

Squirrel and I started our upstairs renovation what seems like 5oo years ago. Yes, I’m being dramatic. We started a year ago, but when you have no closet and you’re living out of boxes for a year, time seems to stand still. I wore sweat pants, stretchy capris, and shorts with holes in them for an entire year because I was too lazy to dig through the boxes to find a decent outfit, not to mention having to iron said outfit because it had been crumpled up in a box for almost a year. Basically, I looked like a bum for 365 days.

We finally finished renovating–and by “we” I mean Squirrel–and our bedroom is back to normal. Squirrel built me a gorgeous closet that I get to keep all to myself–it’s a dream come true. While our bed is still on the floor and our television is sitting on a overturned Rubbermaid container, it’s all good because I have my closet back. I even bought a new pair of shoes to christen the new shoe rack.
Crushing On

These Oatmeal Cookie Pumpkin S’mores Gooey Bars. Talk about oozy!

This pizza.

This necklace.

These shark socks. I must have them!

This ice cream. You guys, it’s made with cookie crumbs and cream cheese–gimme!

This Pumpkin Cheesecake Martini. One for each hand, please.

This French Onion Beef Stew. It’s on the menu this week, so it’s happening.

These cookies. Tried ’em, love ’em!

This stuffed spaghetti squash…made my heart go pitter patter.

This cockail. Because, vodka-infused worms.

What are some of your epic plans for this fall?

I’ll trade Baltimore’s warm weather for our chilling weather. I’ll even throw in my boots :) Summer all year for me please!!! That pic of the trees is pretty gorgeous though.

Ahh come on – we have had some good boot weather a couple times here in the DC area :) One time a week for a couple weeks … that’s enough time to break out the boots, lol. I love your lists!!
