Dirty Banana Cocktail {Gluten-Free}
The Dirty Banana quickly became my favorite cocktail last summer, and that’s because it’s loaded with chocolate, booze, and ripe bananas. This creamy dream boat is sure to win your heart this Valentine’s Day.
When the Dirty Bananas are flowin’, you know it’s going to be a kickass Valentine’s Day! <—At least that’s my definition of a kickass Valentine’s Day–endless pitchers of frothy booze.
You see, I’m not very romantic. I don’t require flowers (especially not red roses), jewelry, stuffed animals, or anything else V-Day related. The way to my heart is, and always will be, through food and booze. Take this Dirty Banana cocktail, for example. If, say, the hubs were to blend one up and deliver it to me immediately upon waking, he would gain major props for days. He could ask for whatever he wanted, and I’d hand it over, no questions asked!
Given that he’s often too busy to read the random thoughts that live here on this space, he’ll have missed the following statement (^^) and, therefore, never be granted whatever his little heart desires. Even if he does stop by and take in the above statement, he’d still have to figure out how to operate my blender.
Let’s chat about this frothy, velvety smooth Dirty Banana cocktail. My girlfriend introduced me to this cocktail last summer, to which I wrongly labeled it the dirty monkey. Monkey. Bananas. It all kind of blended together for me. Either way, I fell in love with the chocolate-banana infused cocktail and began requesting it at every lady date.
Given that I’m me and have to tweak just about every recipe I get my hands on, I, of course, changed a few things. The base of this cocktail, and the reason it’s so dang smooth, is comprised of the very rich, very decadent BOM BOM Coco Mochanut.
The term BOM BOM is slang for “sweetheart” in Spain, which is really kind of fitting given that Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, don’t ya think?
In Portuguese, it translates to “Good-Good,” and I certainly can’t deny that! In fact, it’s so good that you can pour it over ice for a lazy-lady’s cocktail and be winning at life. Their Coco Mochanut is for the coffee lover (me!). It’s a silky-smooth blend of coffee, chocolate, and coconut and Caribbean rum.
Double the rum, double the fun!
They also make a vegan variety–Nilli Vanilli. The name alone is screams fun! Both varieties are gluten-free, natural, and kosher. If you’re dairy-free, Nilli Vanilli has you covered. It tastes like a vanilla cookie with a hint of coconut. So good!
Being that it’s almost Valentine’s Day, I thought I’d take the opportunity to create an indulgent chocolate cocktail. What makes this Dirty Banana so perfect is the balance of creamy and boozy. Add in chocolate and mocha flavors, and it immediately becomes epic.
