AeroGarden Review
Would you like to grow your own veggies, lettuce, and herbs year-round? The Miracle-Gro AeroGarden by AeroGrow allows you to grow fresh veggies indoors all year long. You can choose from tomatoes, peppers, and a variety of herbs and lettuce. Hello, fresh salad in the middle of winter!
I received the Miracle-Gro AeroGarden a few weeks ago to review and have been pleasantly surprised by the outcome. I have real, live plants growing right in the comforts of my kitchen. And, the best thing, I don’t have to care for them! After the initial setup, the AeroGarden does all the work! The only requirement on the grower’s part is to make sure the system has enough water and add the specially formulated Liquid Nutrients (plant food) every 14 days, which is something the garden Control Panel will prompt you to do as necessary.
Once I received my garden, the setup process took a total of 10 minutes. Pop the lamp arm into place, add water and specially formulated Liquid Nutrients, set the time on your garden Control Panel, pop in the pre-seeded pods, and you’re all set. It’s that simple–the garden does the rest. The only thing you have to think about is what time you want your Grow Lights to come on. The Grow Lights stay on for a total of 17 hours each day. I have my AeroGarden set to turn on at 5pm and turn off at 10am.
I’m currently growing a selection of herbs and lettuce. The Seed Pods are labeled according to height. The tall-growing plants get inserted in the back and the short-growing plants get inserted in the front. If you’re going to grow tomatoes or peppers, the unit comes with two trellis attachments to keep your plants upright.
The AeroGarden ULTRA LED delivers faster growth and larger harvest. The LED lights cut down on electricity costs and last for up to 3-5 years. The Garden Coach—on the Control Panel on the front of the garden—will prompt you throughout the growing process and give you tips and tricks for a successful harvest. It also keeps track of how many days your plants have been growing and counts down the days to the next feeding.
With the LED lights, my plants started to sprout on day three and four. By day ten, my dill and cilantro plants were 3-inches tall. At this rate, I’ll be ready to start cooking with my homegrown herbs in 2 more weeks.
It’s so much more fun growing plants when they’re Guaranteed to Grow. I just recently killed two houseplants, so growing herbs that are thriving is no small feat in this house.
The Miracle-Gro AeroGarden 3SL will be available at Walmart.com beginning around November 1, 2014 and at select Walmart stores beginning in November 2014. The Miracle-Gro AeroGarden ULTRA LED is currently available at Costco.com and will be available at select Costco Warehouses beginning about November 1, 2014.
Disclosure: I received a Miracle-Gro AeroGarden ULTRA LED to review via the Kitchen PLAY network. All opinions are my own.

YEEEES-Aerogarden is soooo cool!!!
My husband got me one a few years ago, and I love it! The new one sure looks nice though!
Love and want! How awesome to have a garden year around?! SOLD!
Aerogarden is a interesting product. Bought one a couple years ago, but will never buy another. Partly because of how much they hate their customers and partly because it’s cheaper and better to build one yourself. The day after I ordered mine, I have gotten spam from them 2-3 times a day, just ridiculous. It doesn’t hold enough water, there is no water level indicator and really not enough room to grow more than a plant or 2. For less money you can build your own with many examples online. imo, it’s just not worth the spam or the money.
Hello Jennie,
Yeahh!! You are right. Now a days the aerogarden is the best product to grow variety of herbs. I have an aerogarden. I was astonished when I used it. It is growing faster and easy to harvest. You have to water them, keep light on them. Actually, you don’t have to care about the hurbs all time.
I have read you whole article. This article is so informative. Thank you for sharing with us.
I have both the Aero Garden 7 and the Aero Garden 7 LED. I have followed
the directions to the letter and began using distilled water after speaking with an Aero Garden representative. To date, I have spent approximately $300 on both Aero Gardens and seed pod kits. As the flowers began to sprout, I removed the hot house domes. As the green leaves began to appear, I made certain to use the liquid nutrient when it was needed, and I kept the water at the proper level. Of all the flower seed pods that actually showed some sign of life, all of them began to turn brown and died. Of the flowers that actually bloomed, not more than five or six of them began to grow and then as quickly withered and died.
It’s best that anyone planning to spend money on any Aero Garden product, read some of the reviews on Google before ordering.
I have the aerogarden 7 and growing indoor herbs at the moment as i love to cook. The herbs are so fresh, there easy to maintain and taste real fresh in my dishes.
Hi Jan! I’m so happy to hear that you’re loving your AeroGarden. I’m about to set mine back up for the winter so I have fresh herbs to cook with for the holidays.
I love the things that grew!!!….. but what do I do about the things that didn’t?…. every batch had two items that didn’t grow. But LOVE the garden anyway!
