No-Bake Strawberry Shortcake Trifle
Layers of buttery pound cake, sweet strawberries, and creamy pudding come together to make this No-Bake Strawberry Shortcake Trifle. For the sake of not having to share, I gave them each their own little jar.
Whew, you guys, it’s hot here, but that’s nothing new. I’m sure most of you are experiencing high temperatures, humidity, and uncontrollable sweating in places you never thought you could sweat… TMI?
I’ve been living under permanent lockdown since the thermometer started pushing 100 degrees last week. I keep the shades drawn and the air conditioning rockin’ at a solid 70 degrees at all times. If I have to go out of my house, it’s usually for food, and even then I’m not happy about it. No sooner I step onto my front porch, I’m hit with what feels like a cloud of hot breath. <— Just the thing you want to hear when we’re chatting about food. Oh well, it’s the honest truth.
That being said, there’s no way I’m turning on my oven and compromising the cool air pumping from my vents, so I made you a no-bake dessert instead, because there’s no way I’m giving up dessert on account of the heat.
This No-Bake Strawberry Shortcake Trifle uses the help of the grocery to create the layers of flavor stacked in these cute little pint-sized mason jars, because who wants to share when you don’t have to? I purchased a pre-made vanilla poundcake, a box of instant cheesecake pudding, fresh strawberries, and a container of whipped topping from my local Food Lion. A few turns of the whisk and a bit of layering is all the effort that is required to create these individual snacks.
The new Food Lion Recipe Portal makes creating a grocery list and meal plan a breeze. You can plan your menu using the recipes featured on their site and create a shopping list based on the items listed in each recipe. If you love getting in the kitchen and creating your own recipes, they even offer a form to submit your own recipes for other Food Lion customers to use in the future.
One jar may not be enough.

Wooooowee! 100 degrees?! And I was complaining about 92 last week, ha! I hear ya on the cooking front..I’ve got my house’s temperature down to a system and do what I can to not raise it. These lil’ trifles are aaaaadorbs! I’m sure my friends would love me forever if I served them these on a toasty evening.
I sure can relate, I’m in NW Florida (native Floridian). We’ve been under heat advisory, humid BIG time. You need a machete just to get through the air…YUCK! Your dessert is exactly what we need for dessert, Thank you.

You definitely deserve no bake recipes with that kind of heat! Loving the individual no-share portions :) And that pound cake looks to die for!
Wow, that is so gorgeous. And no-bake is the way to go this blazing summer!
Summer pretty much requires an arsenal of no bake desserts. And pound cake in a trifle is as good as it gets in my book!!
I sympathize with you on this heat. It’s abated here in Detroit a bit this week, but last week was just brutal. I’d much rather stay in the AC, eating one of these little trifles. They are just adorable. And those jars! Cute cute cute. Heading over to check out the recipe now.
I’m all about no bake desserts this time of year! Perfect summer dessert!
