Are you dreaming in red and pink these days? It’s hard not to when the store isles are stocked with every red and pink item known to man. It’s a bit overwhelming, if you ask me. The seasonal section at Target looked like one giant Pepto-Bismol bottle blew up.
I shudder at the very thought.
These Red Velvet Rice Krispie Treats are easy to make, and they’re soft, buttery center and sprinkle-coated exterior are highly addictive. It’s hard to resist a snack that oozes soft strings of melted marshmallows.
These pretty-in-pink snacks get their flavor and festive pink color from Amoretti‘s Natural Red Velvet Artisan Flavor. It’s highly concentrated, naturally flavored and colored, contains no high-fructose corn syrup, and is preservative and alcohol-free. It’s also great for flavoring ice cream, milkshakes, smoothies, and frostings.
As if red velvet krispie treats weren’t enough, I went and drizzled them with a cream cheese glaze. You can thank me later.

Ingredients:
Rice Krispie Treats
- 5 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons Amoretti Red Velvet Flavor
- 10 and 1/2 cups mini marshmallows, divided
- 6 cups krispie rice cereal
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Sprinkles for topping
Cream Cheese Glaze
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup + 1 tablespoon powdered sugar, sifted
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions:
Rice Krispie Treats
- Line a 9-inch-by-9-inch square pan with foil and spray lightly with cooking spray.
- In a large pot over medium-low heat, melt butter. Once the butter is melted, add 8 cups of the mini marshmallows, red velvet flavor, and salt. Cook, stirring constantly, until the marshmallows are melted. Remove from the heat and stir in the rice cereal until coated. Fold in the remaining mini marshmallows.
- Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking pan. Gently press the mixture into the pan.
- Allow the treats to cool completely. Drizzle the treats with the cream cheese glaze. Sprinkle with colorful sprinkles and slice into squares. These treats are best served on the first day, but will stay fresh for up to 3 days in an airtight zip-closed bag.
Cream Cheese Glaze
- Add cream cheese to the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment or in a large bowl using a hand mixer, beat until smooth and creamy. With the mixer on low, slowly drizzle in the milk and vanilla extract. If the mixture appears to thick, add milk 1 teaspoon at a time until the mixture is just thin enough to drizzle.

I just made 100 rice krispies treats for a Valentine’s event tomorrow! Now I wish I would’ve thought to make them red velvet. Seriously, that creamy cheese glaze? Stroke of brilliance.
I had no idea red velvet flavor was a thing that existed! I need to get my hands on some of that. These krispie treats are adorable, and I bet they taste amazing!
Red Velvet anything reminds me of my wedding cake, so I’ll always associate it with very fond memories. I haven’t had a rice krispie treat in far, far too long. These are so lovely and fun!
Using that Amoretti flavoring is smart since it’s hard to capture the taste of red velvet if you don’t have any cake laying around to use up. Love how festive these look for Valentine’s Day!
This is just a great way to use that red velvet flavoring and who doesn’t love rice krispie treats?
