A sip-able version of the classic cherry pie.
I’ve been binge sipping tropical lassis like they’re going out of style, which won’t be happening as far as I’m concerned.
Lassis for life, yo!
I currently have a jumbo-sized fruit bowl (aka my mixing bowl) full of fresh mangoes, pineapples, and bananas waiting patiently for their turn in the blender.
Sadly, they’re going to have to wait an extra day. After seven days of the same smoothie, I decided it was finally time to spice things up in the blender and created this cherry pie smoothie recipe for National Cherry Pie Day, which happens to be today.
A smooth, drink-able, nutritious version of cherry pie. Hey, now you can have your pie and eat (drink?) it too!
I find it kind of odd that National Cherry Pie Day falls in the month of February when cherries aren’t in season until May. But, I don’t make the rules.
Back to this cherry pie smoothie. It’s full of good-for-you ingredients: cherries (obviously), Greek yogurt, raw almonds, almond milk, and maple syrup. I used 1 full cup of frozen cherries (since cherries are currently out of season) in this smoothie–that’s a whole lotta cherries. I added a handful of raw almonds for a boost of protein and sweetened it with pure maple syrup to give the smoothie the classic cherry pie flavor.
Not only is this smoothie rich in antioxidants, protein dense, and full of vitamin C, but it comes together in 5 minutes as opposed to 1 hour and 30 minutes. I call that winning, folks.
A sweet blend of cherries, Greek yogurt, almonds, and maple syrup.
