I made you an epic last minute treat for Valentine’s Day. These peanut butter stuffed chocolate covered pretzels have it all, folks. They’re a perfect combination of sweet and salty.

Of course, there’s the peanut butter and chocolate combo, which, as we all know, is the best combination on the face of the Earth. Make that universe.

Be prepared to have your best intentions intercept with your desire to eat the entire batch.

The original plan was to make and gift these to Squirrel for Valentine’s Day since chocolate covered pretzels are his absolute favorite treat. However, after I started dipping them into the chocolate, they landed right in my mouth. I don’t know how it happened, but there they were, right. in. my. mouth.

Dip.

Eat.

Dip.

Eat.

It went on like that for at least the first 10 pretzels.

Here’s how to assemble the pretzels:

  1. Place 20 pretzels on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  2. Fill a sandwich or small freezer bag with 1/3 cup of peanut butter. Snip off one corner of the bag.
  3. Top each pretzel with 1/2 teaspoon of peanut butter.
  4. Place a pretzel on top of the peanut butter and press down slightly.
  5. Dip half of the pretzel sandwich into melted chocolate and place it back on the baking sheet. Repeat until all of the pretzels are dipped.
  6. If you’re feeling festive, add sprinkles to each pretzel while the chocolate is still soft.
  7. Place the pretzels in the freezer for 15-minutes, or until the chocolate hardens. Store in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 7 days.
